A commenter reports hearing of one such sale.
My friend bought a brand new house for $62/sq ft a few months ago, but those days are over. Home builders have stablized themselves now. By the time they publish that, it will not be true anymore.
I was surprised to get some confirmation (although secondhand) that such sales did indeed occur. I originally thought the person being quoted was exaggerating.
