I would appreciate your input… and, yes, Arizona Homes Catalog .com is up and running today… I hope!

I’m sorry about the inconvenience last week.

Arizona Homes for sale Catalog

MAP SEARCH

Map search is the future and this new website emphasizes finding Arizona homes for sale using map search. Try it. You’ll LOVE it.

CLEAN DESIGN

The homepage design is simple, simple, simple. I don’t know of a website of Arizona homes for sale that is easier to understand.

HELPFUL TUTORIALS

ArizonaHomesCatalog.com has always had tons of great features for Arizona home shoppers but few people were using them. So I added two flash tutorials, one for the map search and another for the regular Arizona MLS search. Click both “Tips and Tricks.”

I would love your feedback on my new homepage for Arizona Homes Catalog .com! I appreciate reports of bugs, typos or any suggestions.

Thanks,

John P.S. If you like it, please tell your friends.

    Hi John,

I love it. I clicked through on the Camtasia studio tutorial for the map search, and I think what you’ve done rocks. One usability suggestion if you can swing it would be a “Back” link on the page instead of “click the back button”, but either way it’s very slick.

By the way, I have a blog that’s just starting off (unlike Sacramento-home.com, where we’re already link partners). This one is for my new company, Elite Properties, and to help on a new agent I just took on. It’s at www.placerville-realestate.com. Not as cool as your site yet by a long shot, but would you be interested in blogroll links?

    things i don’t like:

  • way too much text describing every option on the main page.
  • i run on a high resolution monitor and didn’t even notice that the map was on the main page!
  • make the pre-built searches expandable so that all you see is “mesa” with a + near it. click on the + or mesa and it shows “dobson ranch” and all the rest. this will cut down on the clutter of blue links.
  • speaking of a sea of blue: i don’t think it needs to say “Real Estate Homes” after each city/subdivision.
  • when you click on “modify search” after one of the canned searches (dobson ranch for example) it should show the selection in the list box (this might be hard to do). you are kind of going on faith that it’s still selecting dobson ranch when you make a change to the criteria (no condos).
  • top right graphic which says “ArizonaHomesCatalog.com” should in fact be a link! bad form to have it say the name of the site and not be a link back to the homepage.
  • what tabs are you talking about in all those instructions on the main page? instructions on the main page should only relate to things that are found on the main page. put the map above all that text, make the text either pop-ups with instructions or expandable text

    things i like:

  • the map is very nice, and very easy to use
  • i like the graphics on the top of the page
  • i like the canned searches
