Arizona real estate transfer taxes

January 16th, 2007 · 2 Comments

We don’t have ‘em.

Well, some homeowners associations have them in one form or another, in particular, Sun City and Sun City West.

The State of Arizona, however, does not charge a real estate transfer tax. Zero. Zilch. Nada.

Oh yeah, our property taxes are dirt cheap too… so to speak.

If you are thinking of moving to Arizona versus California versus Florida keep the total costs of buying and owning in mind.

Low taxes are a big reason Arizona is perennially a hot real estate market.

I wouldn’t be shocked if the Gov tried to raise the subject of transfer taxes again. She does have a better mandate than the last time she won election.

I’m on AAR’s GKRA and we are keeping an eye on this.

If she succeeded, it would be the end of the world as we know it.

Most politicians have never met a tax they didn’t like.
