A few years ago downtown Scottsdale was a worry. The big fight was over whether they should continue to slog “The West’s Most Western Town” schtick.

Today, downtown Scottsdale is one of Arizona’s major construction zones with tons of high rise condos and shopping going in.

Part of that new energy is reflected in all the new or revitalized boutique Scottsdale hotels that have sprung up in the last several years.

More than a half-dozen of the upscale chic establishments are either new or have revamped themselves in the last couple of years to cater to the growing market of Generation-X tourists. And one more may be on the way.
