Wild flower update

March 9th, 2008 · 2 Comments

Liz hiked Pinnacle Peak this morning and said the poppies still looked great and there were more purple flowers this week mixed in among the poppies. The brittle bush was budding out but no flowers yet.

If you’ve seen some wild flowers, please tell us where in a comment.

Thanks!

Texas is known in the springtime for wildflowers, but what most people don’t realize is that they germinate in December and January. We had little ran during that time so the wildflowers won’t be that impressive. Is that the case also in your agea?

    Same thing in Arizona.

Some years we will have a really wet February and you’d think that we would have a great wild flower season but we don’t.

It’s the rainfall in December and January, that determines the abundance of wild flowers in March.
