Absolutely not!
It is illegal, in fact, for a loan officer (or home inspector or title company or real estate appraiser) to provide a referral fee or other compensation to a real estate agent.
If a lender does a good job for my clients, that’s all the payment I want. Having a good lender makes the whole home buying experience a ton more fun for everyone.
On my list of loan officers, I have pros who make the process as hassle-free as possible for my clients. That is all I ask, that they take great care of my clients.
There is a enough stress already in buying a home and moving into it. You don’t want a lousy loan officer – and there are many – to unnecessarily add to the stress by messing up your home loan. In fact, an incompetent lender could actually cause home buyers to lose their earnest money.
Call me if you have any questions.
I want to be your Realtor!
