The Federal Reserve’s balance sheet hit a new all time record of $2.19 Trillion in assets, after an unprecedented spike of over $70 billion in MBS purchases pushed the number over the previous record from late April.

I think the saddest part of that whole clip is the stat that says “a trillion can run the federal government for 3 months”. Really? with a trillion dollars the politicians could only last a quarter of the year. I suppose when Goldman needs cash on call from Turbo Tax Timmy, having a trillion in reserves is necessary…
