The 59 impala was NOT the only one without the three tailights.. The 66 also did not have them.

In 1959 I baught a 1959 Impala Conv., Black on Black and Red interior, with 3,300 miles on it. It was equipped with the 348 cu. in. engine with 3-2 bbl. carbs, solid lifters, 12.25:1 compression ratio, and a 4-speed trans. The owners manuel stated this was a 335-hp engine, and I was told by the original owner, also a dealer in another state that there was appx. 700 of these cars built. The car DID NOT have a radio, and the interior had rubber floor mats . I have lived in seven states and have always asked other motor heads if they know of this set-up, and no one has ever seen or heard of this. Can you HELP…….I only wish I still had this one.
