What is a person who has an outdated house who wants to sell in this market? By the looks of these graphs it will have to be almost given away

Well, the median home price in December was just under $180,000. That’s a lot less than when it was $225,000 but you don’t have to give it away. $180,000 is still a lot of money… unless, of course, you owe more than than that on the house.
If you bought in 2004 or earlier, you’re good, assuming you didn’t do a cash out refinancing.
